KEY POINTS
- "The Walking Dead" showrunner has shared some interesting teasers for the Season 10 finale
- The finale will feature "interesting turns" for some key characters
- "The Walking Dead" Season 10 finale will air later this year after being postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic
“The Walking Dead” Season 10 finale will feature a number of twists involving several key characters, showrunner Angela Kang revealed.
The final episode of “The Walking Dead” Season 10 was postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and there’s still no official announcement on when the finale of AMC’s zombie apocalypse drama will air.
The penultimate episode of the season ended with Beta (Ryan Hurst) making his way toward the Alexandrian survivors with a herd of walkers. Their chances of defeating the Whisperer leader is uncertain as the group is all broken up, especially as Princess (Paola Lázaro), Ezekiel (Khary Payton), Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) are out on the road.
Their road trip is going to take some “interesting turns,” teased the showrunner on Friday during an appearance on AMC’s “Friday Night With The Morgans.” Kang added that fans can expect some “pretty cool things going on with Negan” as well.
The character of Negan is played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who co-hosts “Friday Night With The Morgans” with his wife, Hilarie Burton.
As teased in the trailer of Season 10, episode 16, Lauren Cohan’s Maggie will return in the finale. Maggie might not accept the fact that her friends have added her husband’s killer into their group, and the finale could set in motion the events that could further strain her relationship with Negan.
Teasing what’s in store for other characters, Kang said, “We’ve got Carol kind of in her quest for redemption. We’ve got some awesome stuff with Father Gabriel.”
The Beta storyline will also get traction in the final episode, the director added.
“Now that Alpha is gone and Beta is having to step up into that leadership role — with his kinda half-Alpha and Beta face — we’re going to see our people take their stand against Beta and the Whisperers,” said Kang.
“The Walking Dead” Season 10 finale will air later this year on AMC. Fans can get more updates about the show during Comic-Con@Home, which runs from July 23 to 26, as the show will be bringing many of its team members for online panels.
The event will be moderated by “Talking Dead” host Chris Hardwick and the panel will feature chief content officer Scott M. Gimple and executive producer Greg Nicotero. Cast members Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Morgan, Cohan, Josh McDermitt, Ross Marquand and Paola Lazaro, among others, will also be making appearances.
Kang will also be a part of the panel.
This year’s Comic-Con@Home is free for everyone to watch from home.
