'The Walking Dead' Season 10: When It Returns And What To Expect

“The Walking Dead” Season 10 will return by early 2020. After the cliff-hanger ending in the mid-season finale, anticipation is high over what will happen next on the show.

The heroes have been searching for the Whisperers herd, and in the mid-season finale they were seen facing what seems like an impossible situation. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Angela Kang explained that the story for the heroes and the Whisperers is racing towards the end, and the best way to show the culmination of all that has happened in the previous episode was to put the heroes in a situation where the chances of success are slim.

How will the heroes escape what feels like a death trap? According to Kang, they will have to “get clever and figure out what to do next.”

While the predicament of the heroes is one of the issues that the show will deal with when “The Walking Dead” Season 10 returns, there is also the question of Michonne (Danai Gurira). The actress will be exiting the TV series, and she has signed on for only a limited number of episodes.

Michonne was last seen going on a quest of her own to find weapons they can use against the Whisperers. When asked if the fans will have to wait for a while before seeing her again, Kang confirmed that the fans will not see the character as soon as the show returns. She however promised that the katana wielding hero has “interesting intrigue” in her story.

Another interesting storyline on the show that the fans can look forward to is between Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Rosita (Christian Serratos). In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kang pointed out that Eugene has been trying to declare his love, but Rosita has been running away from it.

With the comic books coming to an end, some fans have been wondering if the show will also come to an end with it. However, Kang confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that there are many ways for the show to continue beyond the story in the comics.

“The Walking Dead” Season 10 will return on Feb. 23, 2020 on AMC.
