‘Walking Dead’ Season 4 Spoilers: Episode 9 Synopsis Leaks Online; What Do New Photos And Video Reveal About Midseason Premiere?
The wait has been long, but the midseason premiere of “The Walking Dead” is less than two weeks away. With the Super Bowl Zombie Bowl on AMC the only thing standing in the way of fans, the network has decided to gift their patient viewers with some major scoop – a new video, photos and the synopsis for the midseason premiere, episode 9.
Episode 9 Synopsis And Photos
The midseason premiere is titled “After,” and will be following the group after they were forced to flee the prison. The synopsis released by AMC is short and sweet:
“As Rick deals with old wounds, members of the prison have to come to terms with their new environment and ask themselves if survival alone is enough.”
While the fate of everyone is up in the air, a couple photos released by the network reveal that Michonne, Carl and Rick are alive … for now.
The first photo shows Michonne back to her old tricks with two “pets” -- armless and jawless zombies. The katana wielding survivor previously used to walk around with two armless and jawless zombies chained up, but was forced to turn to rope this time around.
It was previously teased that Michonne knew her former two “pets” (who ultimately were beheaded and kept in a fish tank by the Governor), and it sounds like the second half of season 4 will explore that. According to E! Online, “Walking Dead” viewers will get to see Michonne pre- zombie apocalypse. The site reveals that before the world began to crumble Michonne “was just a regular woman who smiled a lot.”
The final two photos released from episode 9 show Carl struggling to survive with Rick incapacitated. While Rick may be alive, he’s physically and mentally beat up from the Governor’s final attack. Photos reveal that the father and son will find shelter in an abandoned home, but it’s now Carl doing the leading … not Rick.
The ‘Season 4 Returns’ Video
The latest video from “The Walking Dead” isn’t a trailer. The executive producer and actors came together to form a 3:49 minute video that teases the struggles that the group will be facing when the series returns on Sunday, Feb. 9.
While the first half of season 4 found the group struggling with the illness that swept through the prison and the threats that come from humans, the second half will have the survivors trying to get back together and find sanctuary. But according to Rick’s Andrew Lincoln it won’t be that easy.
“People have been spun into orbit,” Lincoln dished. “Everybody’s been separated and it’s a terrifying world that we inhabit again.”
The midseason finale found the group fleeing in every which way possible and while they are looking to reunite like they did after the hoard at Hershel’s farm, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd teases that “some of them decided to leave others behind.”
“The Walking Dead” returns to AMC with episode 9 on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 9 p.m. Will you be tuning in? Let us know your thoughts on the upcoming midseason premiere in the comments section or send a tweet to @AmandaTVScoop.
