‘Walking Dead’ Season 6 Spoilers: Star Says Finale Script Is ‘Gut-Wrenching’
The Season 6 finale of “The Walking Dead” isn’t even on the horizon for fans, but the same can’t be said for the actors. Although episode 6 is set to air on AMC this week, the stars of the show are already prepping for the final episode.
“We’re about to shoot the finale, and it’s maybe the darkest bit of writing I’ve ever read,” actor Ross Marquand, who plays Alexandria survivor Aaron, revealed to Us Weekly. “It genuinely is one of the craziest, most gut-wrenching episodes I’ve ever read in my life.”
It sounds like “Walking Dead” viewers better come prepared with tissues! But what’s on the horizon for everyone’s favorite characters?
There is still a lot of ground to cover before the finale. Right now some group members are separated. Alexandria just survived an attack from a pack of deadly humans called the Wolves, but walkers surround the walls thanks to the noise. Meanwhile, Daryl (Norman Reedus), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) are stuck approximately 20 miles away from home. Fans don’t know what happened, but it appears that the trio ran into a potentially dangerous hiccup while attempting to lead the horde away from the safe haven.
And fans can’t forget about Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). This past week Maggie confessed to Aaron that she’s pregnant with Glenn’s baby. However, episode 3 seemingly killed off her husband. Showrunner Scott M. Gimple released a statement to “The Talking Dead” revealing that fans will definitely see Glenn in “some version” – or at least “parts” of him.
There are 16 episodes total in Season 6 with the series taking a break after the mid-season finale on Sunday, Nov. 29. New episodes will resume on Valentines Day, with the finale airing Sunday, April 3. Episode 16 will reportedly be written by “Walking Dead” comic book creator Robert Kirkman and directed by executive producer Greg Nicotero.
