‘Walking Dead’ Season 7B Spoilers: Synopsis And Photos Released; Rick Prepares For War Against Negan
It’s war! On the second half of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Season 7, fans will see Rick and his gang preparing to take down the big bad Negan, but it won’t exactly be an easy feat for Rick to get enough people onboard with his plan.
The synopsis for Season 7B, released Tuesday, reveals that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) realizes it’s going to take a lot of hard work to build an army strong enough to beat Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and The Saviors. “The second half of the season will focus on preparing for war and gathering the supplies and numbers to take Negan down once and for all,” the synopsis reads. “Rick’s group will find out yet again that the world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s much bigger than anything they’ve seen so far. While they have a singular purpose — to defeat Negan — it won’t come easy.”
According to the description, Rick will need a lot more than the people at Alexandria to help conquer Negan, so he tries to convince the people at the Kingdom and Hilltop to join him. However, the Kingdom’s leader Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and the Hilltop’s leader Gregory (Xander Berkley) don’t want to see anyone die during the battle. “To convince them otherwise will take more than speeches,” the synopsis reads. “The lengths Rick and the group will have to go in order to find weapons, food and new fighters is nothing short of remarkable.”
Based on the synopsis, fans will also meet new survivors in Season 7B. “We’ll see treachery from people we trust. Rick is confident as he will see his group and many others band together with the common goal of taking down Negan. But no amount of planning will prepare the group for all-out war with Negan and his army,” the summary teases.
When “The Walking Dead” left off, Rick and several others from Alexandria traveled to the Hilltop, where Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Enid (Katelyn Nacon) were. Daryl (Norman Reedus), who had escaped from The Sanctuary, was also at the Hilltop with Jesus (Tom Payne). In a sneak peek released last month, Rick was seen trying to convince everyone that the best option for them is to attack Negan and The Saviors.
New episodes of “The Walking Dead” will return in February on AMC. Check out three new Season 7B photos below.
