"The Walking Dead" alum Emily Kinney has expressed a desire to return to the zombie apocalypse drama despite her character being killed off in Season 5.

Kinney played the role of Beth Greene, and she made her first appearance in Season 2 of "The Walking Dead." The character bid adieu in Season 5's "Coda" when she was shot by Dawn (Christine Woods) following a tense confrontation.

It seems unlikely for Beth to return after her death, but Kinney recently said she would like to reprise her role if "The Walking Dead" writers figure out a way to bring her back and give her character a storyline.

"I mean, I did get shot in the head," Kinney said of her character on Tommy DiDario’s "Let’s Stay Together" Instagram series. "But I mean, I loved the show, I loved working on it."

"It makes me so happy to be a part of it, I'm very proud of being a part of that show. So it's not out of [the question] … if there was some way, sure," she continued.

While Beth was last seen in "The Walking Dead" Season 5's midseason finale, she was referenced in Andrew Lincoln's character Rick Grimes' final episode in Season 9. In a lucid dream state, Rick hears Beth asking him, "What's your wound?" Her corpse also appears in Rick's hallucination, alongside those of other dead characters.

"The Walking Dead," which is currently in its 10th season, is on a hiatus due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The show will return later this year for the Season 10 finale, which is expected to feature the death of a key character.

Fans can get more updates about the show during Comic-Con@Home, which runs from July 23 to 26, as the show will be bringing many of its team members for online panels.

The event will be moderated by “Talking Dead” host Chris Hardwick, and the panel will feature chief content officer Scott M. Gimple and executive producer Greg Nicotero.

"The Walking Dead" cast members Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Morgan, Cohan, Josh McDermitt, Ross Marquand and Paola Lazaro, among others, will be making appearances as well.
