Build-A-Bear (BBW) has partnered with Walmart (WMT) for its National Teddy Bear Day, allowing for more customers to participate in the event.

Build-A-Bear will hold the annual global event on Sept. 7 to 9. On Sept. 7, customers will be able to purchase a limited-edition collectible National Teddy Bear Day stuffed animal for $6.50 at Build-A-Bear stores as well as Walmart locations throughout the U.S.

More than 2,000 Walmart stores are participating in the event, that will also have interactive and experimental activities at its locations. This will include visits by Build-A-Bear’s mascot, Bearemy on Sept 7 at stores and at landmarks and local communities around the world on Sept. 8.

For every photo taken with Bearemy and shared on social media using the hashtag #nationalteddybearday from Sept. 2 to 9, Build-A-Bear will donate a teddy bear to a charitable organization with up to 50,000 bears donated globally.

“We are pleased to once again lead the celebration of National Teddy Bear Day and honored to work with Walmart on our first-ever national collaboration to make this the biggest event yet,” Sharon Price John, Build-A-Bear Workshop CEO and president said.

“This year, the weekend will be filled with fun in-store activities including a special offer for a collectible furry friend designed especially for the occasion, appearances throughout the world by our huggable mascot, Bearemy, and in line with our mission to ‘add a little more heart to life’, the donation of thousands of furry friends to multiple charities to help children in need.

“National Teddy Bear Day has become an annual occasion to celebrate the difference that the hug of a teddy bear and the heart of a powerful brand like Build-A-Bear can make in the world,” she added.

Customers can also listen to Build-A-Bear RadioTM, powered by Dash, to get updates on the events that will be happening over the weekend as well as becoming a member of Build-A-Bear Bonus Club for exclusive member updates.
