Event organizers have turned on a new leaf and decided to go virtual ever since the pandemic caused by COVID-19 has either postponed or canceled their in-person events as a worldwide effort to prevent the spread of the disease.

While it's not like the real expo, virtual events are the next best thing for fans to appreciate considering that the government is still keen on enforcing social distancing and minimizing mass gatherings. They can still enjoy their favorite happenings but in the comfort of their own home and without fear that they might get sick.

In line with this, Warner Bros. announced Tuesday (March 16) that they will be hosting a free virtual event that will offer all things DC. Dubbed as the “DC FanDome,” this “free virtual fan experience” will run for 24 hours on August 22 starting at 10 a.m. PT.

“For more than 85 years, the world has turned to DC's inspiring heroes and stories to lift us up and entertain us, and this massive, immersive digital event will give everyone new ways to personalize their journey through the DC Universe without lines, without tickets and without boundaries,” said the Los Angeles Times, citing a statement from Warner Bros. Chair and CEO Ann Sarnoff.

IGN said that “FanDome” is poised to be the replacement of DC's Comic-Con panel this year. As such, the event's “virtual panels” will include exclusive interviews, teaser trailers, announcements and next-generation game reveals.

In addition, “DC FanDome” will also feature the Universe's upcoming projects such as “Wonder Woman 1984,” “The Batman,” “Black Adam,” “The Suicide Squad,” the highly-anticipated Snyder Cut of “Justice League” and much more.

Fans can access the event via DCFanDome.com. The “epicenter” of “DC FanDome” is called “Hall of Heroes” and is divided into five main portals: DC YouVerse, DC KidsVerse, DC InsiderVerse, DC FunVerse and DC WatchVerse.

“DC FanDome” will be available in several languages including Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, Italian, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and English. The event also encourages fans to submit their best DC Fan Art and Fandom displays for a chance to be featured. Winners will receive part of a cash prize courtesy of DC and Talenthouse.
