Warren Beatty to make Howard Hughes biopic
Warren Beatty is not set to direct and star in a comedy as reported ealier, but he is going to make a biopic on Howard Hughes, the Hollywood legend whose glitzy and glamorous lifetstyle has already been immortalized in Martin Scorsese’s, The Aviator.
Deadline.Com reports that the actor has started shopping for the cast. His prospective list of actors includes Alec Baldwin Andrew Garfield, Shia LaBeouf, Evan Rachel Wood, Rooney Mara, Jack Nicholson and, of course, his wife Annette Bening.
It is believed that the movie will focus on the later years of Hughes, when he had almost become a recluse.
It was rumoured that Christopher Nolan of Batman fame was also interested in making a film on the Hollywood legend. With Beatty announcing his intention, Nolan may just have to abandon his plans.
Recently, it was reported that he plans to make Dick Tracy 2. No further details are available on whether it will be a reboot or a sequel.
Beatty's filmography as a director includes Heaven Can Wait, Reds, Dick Tracy and Bulworth. He won an Oscar for Reds and nominations for the rest.
According to reports, Warren Beatty had been working for a long time on the script and has finally signed up with Paramount to make the film. Beatty is know to take his time in making a movie. So we will have to wait and watch how this ode to Howard Hughes’s later years turns out.
