Was James Brown Murdered? Woman Has Evidence That May Spark Investigation

James Brown passed away on Christmas Day in 2006, but debates about his cause of death continue.

Despite autopsy reports stating Brown, 73, died from health complications, others believe that foul play may have been involved. As CNN reports, a circus singer named Jacque Hollander, who claims to have evidence that Brown was murdered, has gotten an Atlanta prosecutor to look further into the matter after the two met on Wednesday.

However, Dr. Marvin Crawford, who signed the death certificate confirming a heart attack and fluid in the lungs, believes the investigation is a waste of time, TMZ reports. The doctor says he never found any evidence of foul play following his post-death examination.

Although, he did pose questions about the singer’s death during a 2017 interview with CNN.

"He changed too fast," Crawford said at the time. "He was a patient I would never have predicted would have coded. ... But he died that night, and I did raise that question: What went wrong in that room?"

Now, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard Jr.’s investigators will be conducting interviews and weighing evidence before a full investigation is initiated.

During his interview with Hollander, Howard took notes of a list of potential witnesses and collected printed text messages, as well as a green plastic storage bin allegedly filled with evidence.

According to CNN, Hollander also believes Adrienne Brown, the “I Got You” singer’s third wife, 1996 death was a result of murder, but is dealing with one thing at a time. Despite her calls to Howard being ignored in 2019, Hollander has faith that he will get to the bottom of Brown’s death.

"He was very kind," she told CNN outside of the courthouse after their meeting. "I think he will get to the bottom of this."
