WATCH: Pedestrians Swallowed By Sinkhole As Sidewalk Collapses

Watch your step takes on a whole new meaning after two innocent pedestrians were swallowed up by a sinkhole.

Based on footage of the incident caught by CCTV, two people are seen strolling casually down the street when, out of nowhere, the sidewalk beneath them collapses, taking them down with it. Daily Mail reports that the victims, two women, only obtained minor injuries before being rescued by firefighters.

The video, posted below, also includes the aftermath of the event. The outlet reports that a nearby witness can be heard saying in the footage "You can’t even see them" while looking into the rubble.

The incident occurred in Chongqing, China.

As for what caused the ground to suddenly drop, Chinese outlets are reporting the sinkhole was triggered by a landslide caused by recent heavy rains in the area. An official investigation is still underway.
