Weather: Temperatures Expected To Cross 110 Degrees In California City Amid 'Oppressive' Heat

Several areas in California are expected to see temperatures above 110 degrees in the coming days. Sacramento, in particular, could see temperatures closing in on 115 degrees within the first three days of the week, forecasters predicted.

In its Short Range Public Discussion forecast for Monday through Wednesday, the NWS Weather Prediction Center (WPC) said the "oppressive heat wave" that's affecting "much of Western U.S." is expected to bring temperatures "in the 100 to mid-110 degrees in some places" across California in the coming days.

The agency added that Californians should keep track of Heat Advisories and Heat Warnings issued in the state.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Sacramento, forecasters are expecting a 24% chance of all-time record highs of 114 degrees in Downtown Sacramento on Tuesday.

The Stockton area in Sacramento tied a high of 105 degrees Sunday with the previous record. The last time Sacramento recorded 105 degrees was in 1988.

The NWS in Sacramento also projected that some locations in the California city may close in on a possible high of 115 degrees from Monday to Wednesday.

On Sunday, Oxnard recorded a high of 101 degrees, Camarillo recorded 106 degrees, and Burbank logged a high of 110 degrees, Los Angeles outlet KABC-TV reported.

Long Beach also broke the previous record of 107 degrees in 1988 when temperatures hit 109 degrees Sunday.
