The hosts of the HBO show “Westworld” often appear in their birthday suits whenever Delos personnel are checking up on them. It really begs the question - do the actors playing them ever feel uncomfortable not wearing anything?

For James Marsden, who plays host Teddy Flood, it really helps to stay in shape. Marsden told E! News that he prepares for these kinds of scenes by being a picky eater.

“It’s more about not eating,” he laughingly said. “I try to go easy on dinners leading up to those scenes. Not too many late-night meals and I drink a lot of water. It definitely helps to be training for a triathlon. If those two merge, it’s nice timing. It keeps you in shape!”

Marsden is a sucker for exercise, and he said that it helps keeps him sane despite his hectic schedule. “It’s the cheapest form of antidepressant out there,” he said. “You get out there and run or walk and it just clears your mind and hits the reset button. I have to have that in my life, and being fit is the nice bonus and by-product of it.”

Marsden might be enthusiastic talking about his fitness regimen, but he kept quiet when it came to “Westworld” Season 2 spoilers. The actor is not allowed to dish out any of the show’s secrets, but he did say that he felt “very excited” reading the first scripts for the sophomore season.

Another actor who is excited for next season’s surprises is Tessa Thompson, who plays Charlotte Hale, executive director of the board of Delos Destinations, Inc.

Thompson said the women - living or otherwise - are definitely going to take the lead next season. “It really is a season where I think women are king,” Thompson told Elle. “I think they rule the world in the park this season. It’s kind of all about the women and I think it might be a very feminist show as a matter of fact.”

However, that does not mean they will not face challenges in their takeover of the park. Thandie Newton, who plays host Maeve Millay, actually said she’s “terrified” for what’s in store for her character.

“In Season 2, we’re going to see her going back into the world that she has abandoned, which felt to me like an incredibly courageous and ultimately rebellious choice,” she told Deadline.

“Westworld” Season 2 premieres on HBO in spring 2018.
