It looks like fans will be seeing more of Jimmi Simpson’s young William in “Westworld” Season 2. HBO

Will young William (Jimmi Simpson) be back in “Westworld” Season 2 or won’t he? This is the question fans have been asking since the first season wrapped up, but now they finally have an answer.

Simpson spoke with IGN at the San Diego Comic-Con and revealed that William’s transition into the Man in Black (Ed Harris) will be further detailed next season. “I think... the show is obviously the park, but the element of the Man in Black is a small running line,” he said. “There is a few more questions that they’re gonna answer for us as far as exactly how that transition occurred and what it felt like to him and other people.”

As thrilling as it is for Simpson to return to the show, he earlier admitted to Gold Derby that he’s more excited to see how Dolores Abernathy’s (Evan Rachel Wood) story unfolds next season. Aside from the Man in Black reveal, the other shocker during the season finale is that Dolores is actually the villain named Wyatt whom other hosts were terrified of. “The writers have told me that they know this story very well. I’m mostly invested in Dolores, cause I think she stands for so many things,” he said.

Meanwhile, Wood told Entertainment Weekly earlier that Dolores will be quite different next season, and it’s all because of the revelation she learned during the season finale. “I’m really curious to see the unleashed version of her that we caught a glimpse of at the very end of the finale,” she said. “Those final seconds, I think we were seeing a completely different side to her, completely different programming and completely off of her leash, so I don’t think she will be the same person; she’ll be an evolved version.”

The new trailer provided by HBO already showed Dolores chasing after three park guests and shooting at them without a second thought. It looks like Dolores will not revert back to being a simple rancher’s daughter and instead fulfill the mission that her creator, Arnold Weber (Jeffrey Wright), has set for her.

“Westworld” Season 2 premieres on HBO in 2018.
