‘Westworld’ Star Jimmi Simpson Recaps Entire Season 1 In 6 Minutes [WATCH]
What’s “Westworld” Season 1 all about? Die-hard fans of the HBO sci-fi show would probably be more than happy to tell newbies about it, but Jimmi Simpson, who plays young William on the show, has taken on the challenge.
Simpson recapped the entire first season of “Westworld” for Vanity Fair, breaking down each episode with wit and humor.

His co-star Evan Rachel Wood, who plays host Dolores Abernathy, seemed to think Simpson did a fantastic job because she took to Twitter to congratulate him on his feat.
Simpson earlier said that his return to the show for Season 2 is uncertain. After the big Season 1 reveal that his character would eventually grow up to become the Man in Black (Ed Harris), many assumed that there’s no need for Simpson to continue appearing in “Westworld.” Even Simpson himself believed so, but thankfully, show creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy found a way to bring him back.
Simpson spoke with IGN at the San Diego Comic-Con and revealed that William’s transition into the Man in Black will be further detailed next season, so he will still be utilized for flashbacks. “I think... the show is obviously the park, but the element of the Man in Black is a small running line,” he said. “There is a few more questions that they’re gonna answer for us as far as exactly how that transition occurred and what it felt like to him and other people.”
As thrilling as it is for Simpson to return to the show, he earlier admitted to Gold Derby that he’s actually more excited to see how Dolores’ story unfolds next season. Aside from the Man in Black reveal, the other shocker during the season finale was that Dolores was actually the villain named Wyatt whom other hosts were terrified of. “The writers have told me that they know this story very well. I’m mostly invested in Dolores, cause I think she stands for so many things,” he said.
“Westworld” Season 2 premieres on HBO in spring 2018.
