What Alex Rodriguez Did To 'Keep' Jennifer Lopez, Convince Her To Stay: Report

Alex Rodriguez has joined Jennifer Lopez in the Dominican Republic following reports of their split. The former MLB star is doing everything he can to "prove to her how serious he is" about their relationship, a report says.

Lopez is filming her next project, "Shotgun Wedding," in the Dominican Republic, and Rodriguez flew out to meet the singer-actress there on Sunday, seemingly for a reunion following news of their split on Friday.

On Monday, he posted a video from a resort and wrote on Instagram Stories, "Happy Monday. New week. New day. Onward. Upward."

An unnamed source told E! News that it's been "difficult" for the couple to be apart while she's been shooting abroad. "They haven't had a situation come up like this and it's been hard on the relationship," the insider said.

On Friday, it was reported that they had called off their engagement amid rumors that Rodriguez had an affair with "Southern Charm" star Madison LeCroy, though an unnamed source told E! he's never met her in person.

The couple went on to issue a statement addressing the breakup news Saturday, saying, "All the reports are inaccurate... We are working through some things."

And it seems like they are fighting for their relationship as an insider told E! News, "They are trying to figure things out. He absolutely does not want to split up and has made many promises to try and keep her."

"He flew out to be with her and to prove to her how serious he is. They don't know what's going to happen. Untangling their lives, business dealings and families would be devastating to everyone involved," added the source.

Lopez is trying to focus on her work right now, another source said. The 51-year-old star just wants to "get through filming before they figure out the next steps," the second source explained. "She wants to give him a chance to make it right and really does love him."

In March 2019, Rodriguez shared a photo of Lopez's engagement ring and wrote on Instagram, "she said yes."

He often uses Instagram to express his love and affection for Lopez. Paying sweet tribute to her on Valentine's Day, A-Rod posted on Instagram, "Thank you for taking me into your heart, and on the journey of a lifetime. Words can’t do justice to how you make me feel, and what you have meant to my life. Today we celebrate each other. Just the two of us. But what I love most is that together, we have truly become one.
