What Are Beyoncé’s Twins’ Names? Twitter Makes Suggestions While Stars Remain Quiet
Beyoncé and Jay Z are notoriously private, so it should come as no surprise that the couple has yet to announce the names of their new twins. In fact, they haven’t even confirmed that Queen Bey went into labor, but reports have confirmed that the twins are finally here.
According to Us Weekly, Beyoncé gave birth to a baby boy and a baby girl on Monday, June 12. While insiders gave those details away, everyone is keeping mum on the names of the babies. That won’t stop fans from speculating, though.
If Mr. and Mrs. Carter want to stick to a theme, they might consider naming their children after colors. Could other colors of the rainbow be joining Blue Ivy? These fans had plenty of ideas, from naming the twins after colorful songs to making sure they’re all patriotic.

Others believe the twins will not have names that connects to Blue Ivy’s. Fans are once again circulating the idea that Beyoncé’s twins could be named after Luke and Leia from “Star Wars.” Others think that Jay and Bey’s personal history could affect the names. Perhaps their hometowns or duets could serve as inspiration.
Some Twitter users suggested that the music superstars could honor those they admire, like Prince or Barack Obama, who recently recorded a special speech for Jay Z’s Songwriters Hall of Fame introduction.
Whatever the two superstars decide to call their twins, the names will likely have a special meaning to them. Though Beyoncé and Jay Z have never directly explained Blue Ivy’s name, the “Hold Up” singer posted an excerpt from Rebecca Solnit’s book “A Field Guide to Getting Lost” on her Tumblr in June 2012, just six months after Blue Ivy was born. The excerpt explained what Solnit associated with the color blue, and fans assumed that this inspired Blue Ivy’s moniker. Beyoncé posted the passage without comment.
Announcing names likely isn’t on top of the parents’ to-do list right now. They have bigger concerns. Beyoncé is reportedly still in the hospital with her twins a week after giving birth. TMZ reports that there is a “minor issue” that the doctors want to keep the babies for, but they are expected to be fine. The outlet had no details on what kind of issue they were dealing with.

Names will likely be released through anonymous insiders or confirmed by celebrity friends, much like Blue Ivy’s was in 2012. It was initially unclear whether Beyoncé and Jay Z’s eldest was Blue Ivy or Ivy Blue, but eventually, Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted a clarification.
Though he now has two newborns, Jay won’t be taking much paternity leave. The rapper will release a new project on June 30. Advertisements have appeared on TV and billboards for “4:44,” a project that will be released exclusively on Tidal. It isn’t clear if it’s an album, a movie or both. During the NBA finals, a trailer with Academy Award winners Danny Glover and Mahershala Ali aired, but no explanation has been given yet.
