What Is The Daniel Fast? 'Avengers' Star Chris Pratt’s New Diet Plan
"Avengers: Endgame" star Chris Pratt has become famous for being ripped after shedding a lot of pounds and bulking up for his "Guardians of the Galaxy" role. However, his toned body takes a lot of hard work at the gym, along with a strict diet plan.
Nowadays, Pratt has a new diet plan he's following to maintain his ripped body. On Wednesday, the Marvel star posted a video on Instagram where he encouraged his followers to try on the Daniel Fast. He revealed that he's still in the early stages of the diet plan and that he has more days to go in this regimen.
“Hi, Chris Pratt here. Day Three of the Daniel Fast, check it out,” a sweaty Pratt said. “It’s 21 days of prayer and fasting.”
Anna Faris' ex-husband also joked that he could be "hallucinating" by the time he finishes the diet program. This would be just in time for the start of his press obligations for the "Lego Movie 2" in February.
"It’s going to coincide also, coincidentally, with the ‘Lego Movie 2’ junket," he said. "So, by the time you see me, I’ll probably be hallucinating. Stay tuned."
But what exactly is the Daniel Fast?
According to its website, this diet plan is based on the fasting experiences of the prophet Daniel in the Old Testament of the Bible. As Pratt said, the diet program, which apparently aims to have participants "draw nearer to God," lasts 21 days and involves extended prayer and counseling.
With this regimen, Pratt won't be able to eat dairy, processed foods, leavened bread, meat and animal products. The Daniel Fast also restricts individuals from drinking any beverage aside from water.
For those interested in following Pratt's lead and undertaking this new challenge, it is recommended that you consult your doctor first and see if this diet plan fits your body's needs. Diets do not suit everyone, and it is important to have one that fits your needs.
