What Does Demi Lovato's New Neck Tattoo Mean?
KEY POINTS
- Demi Lovato got a new tattoo on her neck
- The new ink is in celebration of being sober after her overdose incident
- Her boyfriend Austin Wilson also got a new tattoo
Demi Lovato recently visited the shop of celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo in Los Angeles to get some new ink on her neck. The tattoo is actually in celebration of staying sober after the near fatal incident of overdose the singer experienced about a year ago.
Dr. Woo shared a picture of Lovato’s new tattoo on Instagram. She got the word “survivor” inked on her neck to celebrate being sober. The singer hasn’t shared the picture on her Instagram page because she has promised her fans that the next post will be about her new music.
Back in July 2018, Lovato had to be admitted to the hospital after a drug overdose. She was so grateful for surviving the incident that she vowed to not take another day of her life for granted, E! News reported.
After staying relatively low key, Lovato shared an update about her life in an interview with Teen Vogue. “Life is not worth living unless you're living it for yourself,” she said.
Lovato’s tattoos are a reflection of that belief. Before getting “survivor” tattooed on her neck, she had the word “me” inked on her finger. She shared a picture of the tattoo on her Instagram page and captioned the post with the words “me first.”
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer is currently dating Austin Wilson, who too got a tattoo. Wilson loves getting new ink on his body, and he shared a picture of him getting a new tattoo on his Instagram page.
Wilson’s body is covered with tattoos and flaunted them in a topless picture he shared on Instagram. He is joined by his girlfriend in the post, who can be seen hugging him from the back in a sleeveless top while he held on to her arm.
“My girlfriend is hot AF,” Wilson captioned the Instagram post.
