What Does Queen Elizabeth II Do Everyday When She’s At Home?
Queen Elizabeth II has always had a busy schedule due to her royal engagements, but she has slowed done with her duties in recent years.
When she’s not out in public, Her Majesty most likely stays at home. But even then, she follows a routine on a daily basis. The Queen’s helpers follow a specific routine every morning, which includes turning the radio on because the monarch loves listening to John Humphreys on “Today.”
While Her Majesty is listening to the radio show and sipping her cup of tea, her helpers prepare a very specific type of bath for her. According to Daily Mail, the helpers check the water temperature with a wooden-cased thermometer to make sure that the water is to Her Majesty’s liking.
The Queen takes a bath inside a bathtub and the helpers see to it that the water in the tub is not more than seven inches.
Her Majesty also has designated dressers or people who lay out her clothes and help the 92-year-old get dressed. Angela Kelly, the Queen’s personal assistant, is the one responsible for the Queen’s wardrobe and she also oversees everything that she wears in public.
After dressing up, the Queen’s hairdresser gets to work on her tresses. The Queen then eats cereals for breakfast and she consumes it in her private dining room. Other than cereals, the Queen also loves to eat oatmeal.
The Queen also catches up on the news and starts her paperwork after breakfast. One of Her Majesty’s staffs told Daily Mail that the Queen’s desk may seem cluttered and untidy to the average person’s eyes but the Queen knows where every single thing is. She also doesn’t like other people to move the items on her table.
After she catches up on news, the Queen calls for her private secretary, who will then bring all of the papers and documents that Her Majesty needs to sign. After which, the Queen will start to prepare for lunch.
