According to Wikipedia, Engrish refers to unusual forms of English language usage originating in some East Asian countries.
While the term may refer to spoken English, it is more often used to describe written English.
Engrish can be found in many places, including signs, menus, and advertisements.
Examples of Engrish are abound on the web as well, among which Engrish.com claims that it was the first to coin the word Engrish. Their website states Though it may not be an original concept, Engrish.com was the first major site on the Internet to introduce Engrish to the world.
Although some might question the political correctness of such websites, Engrish.com's webmaster writes Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I think that it is important to state here that Engrish.com was produced for entertainment purposes only - not to offend a particular race, people, or society.
That said, let's take a look at some examples of Engrish through our slideshow. Photos are courtesy of Engrish.com
