What To Expect From Apple's 2022 Event: How To Watch, Product Reveals, And More
Apple is holding its latest product event on Wednesday, where it is expected to release the next generation iPhone as well as other new tech products.
The event dubbed "Far Out" will be held live from Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California, at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, where it will be streamed on Apple's website and the Apple TV app. It will also be live streamed on Apple's YouTube channel at the same time.
While Apple has been relatively tight-lipped about what to expect with this product drop, its September events in the past have been known to showcase the latest iPhone from the tech company.
It is expected that Apple will launch the new iPhone 14 with the possibility of four different versions of the device, which has been the norm for smartphone rollouts from the company in previous years, the Independent reported.
Speculation about the event suggests that the iPhone 14 will be revealed with new camera upgrades and an always-on display, according to USA Today. It is also thought that the iPhone Mini will be eliminated from the lineup, CNN said.
Rumors have circulated that Apple also will debut up to five different Apple Watches, including two different materials and two different sizes, as well as a completely new model, according to the Independent.
The new Apple Watch model is speculated to be the Pro Watch, which would come with a bigger display and a more durable design, the Independent said.
AirPods Pro is also expected to be featured at the event, as the last introduction was back in 2019. However, it is unclear if Apple will launch an updated version of the AirPods Pro or hold them back for a later event.
A new iPhone software update is thought to be released with the iOS 16 version, which Apple has teased, saying that it would come in the fall. The software may even launch before the event as Apple has been known to roll out upgrades just prior to the start of its product launch reveals.
New iPads and Macs are not expected from the tech company in addition to augmented reality. Tech experts have speculated that while "Far Out" may lend itself to an AR introduction, the headset that Apple is rumored to be developing is not ready, and a full release is still well off, the Independent reported. However, Apple could highlight the technology on Wednesday.
Last September, Apple introduced new iPhones as well as a new version of its Apple Watch, iPad, and a new iPad mini.
