What did you do in 2011? This is what Madeline Did in 2011 documents 365 days in the life of Madeline Schichtel, an artist based in Los Angeles.

Schichtel took a one second video snapshot of every single day in 2011, documenting all those moments in-between. Set to LCD Soundsystem's All My Friends, what you get in the end is a mosaic of a life.

Schichtel drives around LA, eats artichokes, tries out different hairstyles, gets stoked about old TV shows, draws, knits, eats, sleeps, and works. While incredibly mundane, taken as a whole, we're offered a surprisingly intimate portrait of a human being - of the tiny bits that make up life.

While Shichtel said she fell ill a few times, worked a lot, and spent far too much time driving her car in 2011, there is something joyous about the compilation.

It's interesting to be able to look back on my year and remember these little moments, Schichtel noted. I love seeing how much has changed over just one year being here [in LA]. I hope this video inspires you to treasure every day you get and find the good, beautiful moments in even the worst days - even if it's just going for a walk, taking a drive, or spending time with a pet

Schichtel said she made the video for herself and thought only her friends and family would ever see it.

She couldn't be more wrong.

The video's racked up nearly 640,000 views and counting in the nine days since it was posted on vimeo.
