What Prince Harry Said About Kate Middleton Before He Married Meghan Markle

Prince Harry was very happy when Prince William married Kate Middleton.

The Duke of Sussex was very close to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge before he married Meghan Markle. Prince Harry was like a third-wheel to Prince William and Middleton as he was with them in most royal engagements to the point that they were dubbed “the royal trio.”

Prior to welcoming Markle in his life, Middleton was one of the closest women to Prince Harry. They were seen sharing a joke and were caught giggling together.

According to an insider, Middleton maintained and open-door policy to her brother-in-law. Prince Harry was always welcome to Prince William and Middleton’s home. In fact, he was a frequent visitor at the couple’s four-bedroom cottage that they rented outside the Scottish town.

When Prince William and Middleton graduated and moved to a roomy rented farm house in Anglesey, Prince Harry remained a frequent visitor. The trio would visit local pubs and Middleton would cook for them and even give Prince Harry cooking tips.

“I am delighted my brother has popped the question! It means I get a sister, which I have always wanted,” Prince Harry said after Prince William proposed to Middleton.

Prince Harry played a huge role at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s royal wedding. He even surprised the newlyweds by arranging a short drive back to Clarence House in his father’s beloved open-topped Aston Martin Volante, Katie Nicholl wrote in her 2017 book “Harry: Life, Loss and Love.” Prince William and Middleton were very delighted when they saw the car that was decked out with balloons, red white and blue streamers and a “JU5T WED” number plate.

“To have a big sister is very, very nice,” Prince Harry said a year after Prince William and Middleton’s wedding. “I’ve got to know Catherine pretty well, but now that she’s becoming part of the family, I’m really looking forward to getting her under my wing – or she’ll be taking me under her wing probably.”
