Queen Elizabeth II is very particular about her daily meals and she is one serious dessert lover, according to her former personal chef who had been cooking for her for 15 years, Darren McGrady. The queen's favorite is a special chocolate biscuit cake.

In a recent interview to Recipes Plus, McGrady who also served Prince William, spoke about the queen's favorite dessert. According to the former royal chef, the queen eats one slice of this masterpiece every day.

"Now the chocolate biscuit cake is the only cake that goes back [to the queen] again and again and again every day until it’s all gone," McGrady told Recipes Plus. "She’ll take a small slice every day until eventually there is only one tiny piece, but you have to send that up, she wants to finish the whole of that cake," he added.

McGrady mentioned that if other cakes are made, the monarch usually takes a slice and leaves the rest for the palace staff. But, when the chocolate biscuit cake is made, she keeps it all to herself. She said the queen always takes notice if a slice of her cake goes missing. McGrady shared a fun fact about the queen's undying love for the cake.

The former royal chef accompanied the queen and her family to Windsor Castle, Sandringham House, Balmoral Castle and the Royal Yacht Britannia. He said that the queen loves the cake so much that she would always travel with it. The senior former royal chef would carry the cake with him on a train following the queen's.

"I use to travel on the train from London to Windsor Castle with the biscuit cake in a tin on my knee," McGrady told The Huffington Post via email. "It was half eaten."

McGrady also said that the queen loved anything chocolate during an interview earlier with the Huffington Post.

The former royal chef posted the recipe for the queen's favorite dessert on his website "The Royal Chef." The major ingredients required to prepare the cake includes "4 ounces dark chocolate (for the cake), 4 ounces granulated sugar, 4 ounces unsalted butter (softened), eggs, 8 ounces Rich tea biscuits," along with butter. The website explains the entire procedure to prepare the royal cake.
