What Routines Will ‘Dancing With The Stars” Teams Revisit In Semifinals?
The semi-finals have already arrived for Season 27 of “Dancing With the Stars,” and as the remaining six teams try to prove they deserve a place in the finals, they will need to tackle not only a brand new routine but also visit another which gave them trouble earlier in the season.
The teams still left in the competition will be performing two individual routines during this critically important round of competition. According to an ABC press release, they will all begin with new routines which are dedicated to someone very special in the celebrity’s life. Following those performances, they will follow up with a “Judges’ Choice” routine, where they will be challenged to perform a style of dance they already learned earlier in the season but will need to rework the routine with new music. At the end of the night the scores from both of their routines will be combined for a final tally, then combined with viewer votes from the week prior, before an elimination.
So what will the teams perform as they fight for their place in the finals? Here are the planned routines.
Dedicated Dance Round:
- Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe (#TeamKevanna): After topping the leaderboard during country night but still landing in jeopardy, the fight will truly be on for this pair, especially as they try to get Keo to his first finals round ever. They’ll start the night off with a Contemporary routine set to “Stand Up for Something,” by Andra Day.
- Milo Manheim and Witney Carson (#TeamWitlo): Milo and Witney will perform an Argentine Tango to “Pray for Me” by The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar.
- Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke (#TeamChernando): Juan Pablo and Cheryl will attempt to continue dominating the leaderboard as much as possible with an Argentine Tango to “Libertango” from Forever Tango.
- Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten (#TeamRenTen): The pair who appear to be dating in real life will bring their chemistry to the dance floor with a Waltz set to “Water” by Bishop Briggs.
- Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess (#TeamBeautyandtheGeek): After finally getting an 8 from Len, Bobby and Sharna will continue trying to impress the judges with a Salsa routine set to Flo Rida’s “GDFR.”
- Joe Amabile and Jenna Johnson (#TeamCHECKusOUT): After once again falling to the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard, Joe and Jenna will seek redemption with a Contemporary routine to “This Year’s Love” by David Gray.
Judges’ Choice Round:
- Evanna and Keo: After only scoring 18 points for their Foxtrot back in Week one, the pair will be mentored by Len, who gave them a 5 at the time. They will then perform the dance again, this time to “Rewrite the Stars” from “The Greatest Showman.”
- Milo and Witney: Milo and Witney only scored 20 points for their week one Cha Cha, so they will try it again after being challenged by Carrie Ann. This time they will perform to “Good Feeling” by Austin French.
- Juan Pablo and Cheryl: After scoring 22 points for their Salsa in week one, the pair will be mentored by Bruno as they tackle the dance again, this time to “Tu Sonrisa” by Elvis Crespo.
- Alexis and Alan: The couple earned 21 points for the Jive in Week One. Now, Bruno will challenge them to perform it again, this time to “Yes” by Merry Clayton.
- Bobby and Sharna: Len will challenge the radio star to perform a Jive again to improve on his week 1 score of 20. This routine will be performed to “Gimme Some Lovin’” by The Spencer Davis Group.
- Joe and Jenna: The couple’s Quickstep was notably their worst performance, earning them only 14 points. Now, with Carrie Ann’s guidance, they will try to improve that score greatly, this time dancing to “Check it Out” by Oh the Larceny.”
“Dancing With the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
