What’s Meghan Markle’s New Year’s Resolution Every Year?
As one year ends and another begins, many people decide on a list of resolutions to work on over the course of the following 12 months. Meghan Markle is one of those people.
In 2018, the Duchess of Sussex married Prince Harry, was given the aforementioned title by Queen Elizabeth II and became pregnant with her first child. Despite having quite the eventful year, there’s still always room for self-improvement, even if it’s just wanting to spend more time enjoying what you’ve already accomplished.
For Markle, she has the same New Year’s resolutions every single year, which she wrote about in a 2016 blog post on her personal site, The Tig. Since going public and getting serious with Prince Harry last year, the former “Suits” star has shut down the blog. Still, the resolutions she wrote about remain out there for the world to know about.
“Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. These make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year,” Markle wrote in the post, according to The Sun. “The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple drinks.”
The former actress continued: “And when it comes to the biting of the nails – well, it still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day. It’s unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing. Dammit.”
As she’s now part of the British Royal Family and there are many rules and traditions she has to do her best to adhere to, it’s likely Markle has cut way back on her swearing — at least in public — and with biting her nails.
It’s unclear how much progress she’s made on accomplishing some of her other yearly resolutions, though, including taking up French and running a marathon. The latter might be difficult for her to do as she was reportedly banned from running in the London Marathon because royals allegedly aren’t supposed to be seen sweating in public.
We’ll just have to wait to see if Markle shares any new resolutions she’s adding to the list for 2019.
