What’s New On Crackle In August 2017? Top 8 Movies, TV Shows
A new month means there will be new content available for those who use Sony’s free streaming service, Crackle. Make sure to check out these TV shows and movies when they become available August 1—but remember, they’ll only be available for the month of August.
1. “Fools Rush In” (1997): After a one-night stand in Las Vegas three months earlier, Alex Whitman (Matthew Perry) is stunned when he learns Isabel Fuentes (Salma Hayek) is pregnant. Still finding one another impossible to forget, the two marry, despite neither one being fully accepted by the other’s parents. As the two learn to accept one another’s differing cultures and overcome the stress and pressure from their families, a unique opportunity arises which threatens their happy existence.
2. “Foxcatcher” (2014): When Mark Schultz (Channing Tatum) is given an opportunity to form a wrestling team for the 1988 Olympics with wealthy John DuPont (Steve Carell), he sees it as a way to finally break out on his own and away from his brother Dave’s (Mark Ruffalo) shadow. However, things are not what they seem, and Du Pont soon leads both brothers down a dark path towards unforeseen tragedy.
3. “Point Break” (1991): After a string of bizarre bank robberies in Southern California, federal agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reaves) goes undercover and infiltrates the suspected gang, led by Bodhi (Patrick Swayze). But as he learns more about the group, Johnny meets and falls in love with a female surfer, Tyler (Lori Petty), and finds himself torn between romance and duty.
4. “Seinfeld:” The beloved 90s sitcom will have select episodes available as part of a “Newman” theme. The episodes will include “The Suicide” (S3 E12), “The Sniffing Accountant” (S5 E04), “The Big Salad” (S6 E02), “The Seven” (S7 E13), “The Andrea Doria” (S8 E10), and “The Bookstore” (S9 E17).
5. “Shaun Of The Dead” (2004): Shaun’s (Simon Pegg) life is predictable, dull, and comfortable, and it's getting to be too much for his girlfriend, Liz (Kate Ashfield), who wants him to start acting like a man, and not a boy. When the city is suddenly overrun by zombies, Shaun sees the opportunity to rise to the occasion as he works to protect both Liz and his mother (Penelope Wilton).
6. “Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby” (2006): Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) is a NASCAR superstar with tons of money, fame, a hot wife, and everything that could ever be asked of him. However, when French Formula One racer Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen) races onto the scene and threatens to take everything Ricky holds sacred, he will be forced to endure his toughest challenge yet as he tries to rebuild his career and restore his reputation.
7. “The Karate Kid” (I-III) (1984, 1986, 1989): Follow the chronicle of Daniel (Ralph Maccio) as he starts studying martial arts with Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki Morita) in the hopes of defeating the bullies who study at Cobra Kai dojo with these three films.
8. “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” (2008): This film, which parodies “Walk the Line,” follows Dewey Cox (John C. Reilly) as he travels the long and complicated road to musical stardom, fraught with addiction, rage, heartbreak, sex, and a lifelong pursuit of backup singer Darlene (Jenna Fischer).
