When Can You Get Your Hands On Travis Scott’s Tequila-Based 'Cacti' Hard Seltzer?
Rapper Travis Scott has entered into another collaboration, this time it is with Anheuser-Busch (BUD) for a new spiked seltzer that has a bit of twist.
The seltzer – dubbed Cacti – is geared toward tequila fans and will hit store shelves in spring 2021.
Anheuser-Busch described the seltzer as having “down to earth ingredients” that have an “out of this world flavor.” The beverage is designed for Scott’s 21 and over fans, featuring a 7% ABV (alcohol by volume) and three flavor options – lime, pineapple, and strawberry.
The seltzer will be brewed in Los Angeles and will be made with 100% premium blue agave from Mexico. Anheuser-Busch will sell the Cacti Agave Spiked Seltzer in a nine-pack variety pack of 12-ounce cans as well as in 16-ounce and 25-ounce single cans in the lime and pineapple varieties.
Scott, who is known for hits such as “Goosebumps” and “Sky Walker,” worked side-by-side with Anheuser-Busch to create the Cacti Agave Spiked Seltzer. The flavors, packaging, ingredients, branding, and marketing plan of the hard seltzer are all born out of Scott’s vision, building on the singer’s Cactus Jack brand.
“Cacti is something I’m really proud of and have put a ton of work into,” Scott said in a statement. “Me and the team really went in, not only on getting the flavor right, but on thousands of creative protos on everything from the actual beverage, to the can concept, to the packaging and how it is presented to the world.
“We always try to convey a feeling in our products. I’m a big fan of tequila so I came at it from that angle, too. I’m really excited to put this out in 2021 and see other people be able to enjoy it.”
In October, Scott worked on a collaboration with McDonald’s, when the fast-food chain rolled out a meal combo that took advantage of the star power of the rapper, who has a social media following of 35.6 million followers on Instagram.
The combo meal included a Quarter Pounder with cheese, bacon, and lettuce, a medium order of fries with barbecue sauce, and a Sprite, which is Scott’s favorite meal at McDonald’s. The combo meal partnership was followed by a sold-out merchandise line with McDonald’s and a sweepstakes with the burger chain.
Shares of Anheuser-Busch were trading at $71.09 as of 11:13 a.m. EST, down 36 cents or 0.50%.
