Fox’s “The Resident” aired its fall finale last week and won’t have a new episode on tonight.

The wait for the show to come back won’t be too long, though, because it returns with Season 2, episode 10 on Jan. 14.

While fans won’t be able to find out what’s to become of the multiple cliffhangers (are Marshall [Glenn Morshower] and Julian [Jenna Dewan] dead?) until next month, executive producer Todd Harthan is giving some small teases of what’s to come in the second half of the season, which will pick up shortly after the fall finale, according to TVLine.

“There was a lot to mine there, and there’s still a lot to get out of their complicated relationship,” Harthan told TVLine of Marshall and Conrad (Matt Czuchry). “[Episode 10 shows] the true, raw emotion of a son who is about to potentially lose his father. Matt really nailed the bigger, emotional moments.”

As for Julian, Harthan didn’t reveal when we’ll find out about her fate, but he did share that the QuoVadis storyline won’t last for the entirety of Season 2, but it will instead come to an “exciting and compelling conclusion in the middle of our back half.”
