The coronavirus pandemic has delayed the production of several anime series, including one of the top anime, “Food Wars!” Season 5. The official announcement reveals that fans will have to wait for episode 3 as it is delayed.

The official statement released by the team revealed that “Food Wars!” Season 4, Episode 3, is set to broadcast in place of Season 5, Episode 3 Friday (May 8).

Meanwhile, the team will release an updated schedule after May 15, according to Crunchyroll. It is yet to be seen if “Food Wars!” Season 5, Episode 3 will telecast Friday (May 22) or a later date.

The Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has extended the nationwide state of emergency until May 31, so fans may get episode 3 in June.

The prestigious gourmet tournament – Bishoku Leading Under-25 Entrance (BLUE) is scheduled to happen. Soma Yukihara is one of the students who will represent Totsuki Culinary Academy at the BLUE tournament.

In episode 2 of “Food Wars!” Season 5, the World Gourmet Organization (WGO) has officially announced the BLUE. According to the announcement, three representatives from the academy may enter the renowned competition.

Since the WGO has not appointed the three spots, the academy decides to hold the BLUE preliminaries. Meanwhile, Soma is shocked to learn that Erina Nakiri has been invited by the organizers to participate in the competition, so she won’t participate in the preliminaries.

The theme of the preliminary competition is soup, and the participants can use any ingredient to prepare their dishes.
