When Is The Next Duggar Wedding? Details On Joe And Kendra’s Big Day

The next Duggar wedding could be happening sooner than you’d think. While TLC viewers only just saw Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s seventh oldest get engaged on Monday’s “Counting On” premiere, the couple already has a season in mind for their upcoming nuptials.

It has been revealed that the next Duggar wedding could happen as early as this year. Joseph Duggar, 22, and Kendra Caldwell, 18, discussed their plans for a fall wedding last month following their surprise engagement as Joe’s sister Joy-Anna Duggar’s wedding to Austin Forsyth.

“We are not 100 percent sure as far as the exact date of the wedding,” Joseph told People Magazine. “But we like fall at some point.” The magazine added that the “Counting On” stars were “eager” to start wedding planning.

While it’s unclear what year the pair will marry, it’s customary for Duggar couples to tie the knot shortly after getting engaged. Joy announced her engagement to Austin in March and wed on May 26. Similarly to Joy, Jinger Vuolo waited less than four months before marrying husband Jeremy, Jessa Seewald waited less three months and Jill Dillard had just two months between her engagement and wedding.

No matter when the couple does say their vows, Kendra has revealed she is planning to take a few tips from her future sister-in-law’s big day. “There was lots of things I was definitely taking tips on at Joy-Anna’s wedding,” Kendra, who served as a bridesmaid, told People.

As seen on “Counting On,” Joe asked for Kendra’s hand during the Season 2C premiere. Joy and Austin were in on the proposal plan and approved of him popping the question during their big day.

During the episode, viewers saw Joy pretend to toss her bridal bouquet only to purposefully hand it to a shocked Kendra. What followed was Joe asking her to marry him while on bended knee in front of wedding guests.

“I had absolutely no idea,” Kendra said of the big moment. “He had the ring in his pocket so when I went to go help myself and grab mints out of his pocket, he grabbed at his pocket and I pulled my hand away. But then I quickly forgot about it.”

“I was definitely nervous going into it, but I wasn’t afraid that she was going to say no, because she has said, ‘I’m just waiting on you!’” Joseph added.

Joseph and Kendra announced their official courtship in March, shortly after Joy revealed she was engaged. The couple met through church and talked for six months before courting.

Joe asked her the big question in a field outside the Duggar family home in Arkansas. Unlike his siblings, he gifted his courting partner a promise ring.

“The promise ring signifies that I promise I’m going to wait for you for marriage," Joseph said in TLC video. “It’s kind of a similar token to what my other siblings have done. I just thought it was something a little it different.”
