When And Where To Watch ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 3
Praise be, “The Handmaid’s Tale” is finally coming back. Season 3 premieres this week, and diehard fans will want to know the exact release time.
“The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 3 will release on Hulu at 12 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, June 5. That means that west coast fans can catch the episodes as early as 9 p.m. PDT on Tuesday night.
If this is the first time fans are watching on premiere day, they might want to remember that the entire season won’t be available to binge-watch all at once. Hulu will premiere the first three episodes on Wednesday. New episodes will release weekly after that. Fans will have to wait until Wednesday, June 12 for episode 4.
The only way to tune in is with Hulu, whether that’s through the website directly or an app. The streaming service has subscription options that start at $5.99 per month. New users can get a free month-long trial.
The third season of “The Handmaid’s Tale” is arriving a little later than usual. Past seasons premiered in April, but that was a pretty jam-packed month in the pop culture zeitgeist. Both “Avengers: Endgame” and “Game of Thrones” dominated the conversation, and a later premiere date will likely allow the Hulu show to get a little more attention.
The third season will pick up after the events of the Season 2 finale. June (Elisabeth Moss) had the opportunity to get to Canada with Emily (Alexis Bledel) and baby Nichole. However, realizing she couldn’t leave Hannah behind, June decided to stay in Gilead to save her eldest daughter.
In Season 3, she’ll face consequences for her actions. How will Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) react? How will Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) feel about June staying behind? More importantly, is Nichole really safe?
“The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 3 will focus on June trying to fight her oppressive government without getting killed. According to Hulu, this season, “is driven by June’s resistance to the dystopian regime of Gilead and her struggle to strike back against overwhelming odds. Startling reunions, betrayals, and a journey to the terrifying heart of Gilead force all characters to take a stand, guided by one defiant prayer: ‘Blessed be the fight.’”
