When Will ‘Arrow’ End? See Series Finale Air Date After ‘Crisis On Infinite Earths’
“Crisis on Infinite Earths” is coming to an end, but that isn’t the last fans will see of “Arrow.” The CW superhero drama is in its eighth and final season, and it still has a few more episodes before its swan song.
“Crisis on Infinite Earths” Part 4 is only “Arrow” Season 8, episode 8. Fans will recall that Stephen Amell announced last spring that “Arrow” Season 8 will consist of 10 episodes. “Arrow” Season 8, episode 9 will air Jan. 21 while the “Arrow” series finale will premiere on Jan. 28.
Not much is known about the finale. Oliver died in “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” but after seeing him in Purgatory, it is clear that he still has a role to play. Fans will have to wait and see what happens in the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” finale tonight. However, one sure thing is that Oliver’s story is wrapping up. His daughter will take center stage in next week’s episode.
“Arrow” Season 8, episode 9 is titled “Green Arrow & the Canaries,” and it refers to Mia (Katherine McNamara), Laurel Lance/Black Siren (Katie Cassidy Rogers) and Dinah Drake/Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy. The trio are leading a possible new spinoff, and this will be the backdoor pilot.
It sounds like the Crisis will change Mia’s life in a big way. “It’s the year 2040 in Star City and Mia Queen (Katherine McNamara) has everything she could have ever wanted,” the synopsis reveals. "However, when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) suddenly show up in her life again, things take a shocking turn and her perfect world is upended.”
Photos show Laurel and Dinah looking pretty much the way they did in 2019, so it’s safe to say that there might be some more time travel happening. Though things are different, Mia is still the daughter of heroes. She suits up when the Canaries need her.
“Laurel and Dinah are tracking a kidnapping victim with direct ties to Mia and they need her help. Knowing it will change everything, Mia can't help but be a hero and she, Laurel and Dinah suit up once again to save the city,” the synopsis teases.
Interestingly, none of the promo photos show the original Green Arrow. Does Oliver die in “Crisis”? Fans will have to wait and see, but at least one important character will return for the Jan. 28 finale. Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) will appear in the last episode of “Arrow.”
After “Arrow” ends, fans can watch a retrospective special, “Arrow: Hitting The Bullseye,” airing immediately following the series finale.
