Where Is Barron Trump? Former First Son Wasn’t With Siblings At Trump Departure
Amid the turmoil that surrounded his presidency and decision to leave Washington D.C. before Joe Biden was officially sworn in as the 46th President, Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, boarded Marine One to leave the White House and meet his other children at Joint Base Andrews before they headed to Florida. However, one notable member of their family seemed to be missing as they headed towards life as private citizens once again—their son, Barron.
People watching the Trump family departure from the White House quickly noted that as they walked to the Marine One helicopter, Barron, 14, wasn’t present, which led to many to quickly make comparisons to the final scene from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” when Will Smith’s character stands in the family mansion’s empty living room, as well as the moment that both Kevin McAllister (Macaulay Culkin) and his mother (portrayed by Catherine O’Hara) realize they left him behind when they went on vacation.
However, the former First Son was also notably missing at Joint Base Andrews, where a brief ceremony was held for his father before the official departure to Florida. While his older siblings—Don Jr, Eric, Ivanka and Tiffany—and their partners—Kimberly Guilfoyle, Lara Trump, Jared Kushner and Michael Boulos, were all in attendance and lined up to bid the President and First Lady goodbye, Barron was once again missing.
People Magazine reports that while people genuinely wondered if Barron had been left behind, he was actually present on Air Force One with his parents and did depart with them to Mar-A-Lago. It is unclear why he did not stand with his older siblings.
However, during the four years his father was President, Barron was notably a scarcely present face at events and in public. Though he was occasionally pictured with his parents on arrivals and departures back to the White House, he largely remained out of the public eye as a whole.
In fact, he appeared in public so little that when he was seen at the Republican National Convention in 2020, standing up during his father’s speech, it caused a stir on social media because many noted he had grown in stature significantly since he first moved into the White House at 10 years old in 2017.
