Which “Amazing Race’ Season 31 Team Will Be Eliminated In Switzerland?
A head-to-head competition and another team’s getting incredibly lost allowed a struggling pair to make it through to another leg of Season 31 of “The Amazing Race.” However, their luck could run out as the competition heads to Switzerland for the seventh leg.
Spoiler Alert: The endings of Season 31, Episode 5, “I’m a Bird, I’m a Plane, I’m on ‘The Amazing Race’” and Season 31, Episode 6, “Who Wants a Rolex?” are discussed below
The first “Big Brother” elimination of the season came after teams headed first to Dubai and then Uganda for their next two legs. While Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater were able to narrowly void elimination in Dubai thanks to a non-elimination leg, their true saving grace came in Uganda after fellow “BB” alums Janelle Pierzina and Britney Haynes first got hopelessly lost during the Roadblock, and then lost to them during the Head-to-Head competition at the mat.
Now, with the competition officially winding down as the race hits its midway point, every single minute of the race and every single ounce of strategy matters. With that in mind, here’s where we think teams will fall by the end of the next leg.
Colin and Christie:
They’ve managed to stay in the top three teams throughout the last few legs and could have taken first place in Uganda if Tyler and Korey hadn’t beaten them in the Head-to-Head. They aren’t playing the game with any particular strategy in mind, but they don’t need to. There’s no reason to believe that they won’t keep performing well as the race continues.
Tyler and Korey:
After staying near the middle-of-the-pack for most of the race, Tyler and Korey have finally broken ahead to the front, a place where most of the teams have felt they likely belonged the entire time. Now that they’re there, they’re likely going to stay close to that front for the rest of the race, especially since they try to avoid causing conflict as they race, which could keep a target off their backs.
Nicole and Victor:
After a streak of second place finishes, Nicole and Victor took a slight dip in the standings, but that’s not a reason to believe the two aren’t going to continue being the “Big Brother” team to beat. Despite their dip, they still stayed nearer to the front of the pack, and their ability to work well together and support each other unconditionally during tasks will keep them going through the competition with no problems.
Leo and Jamal:
The Afghanimals have been struggling quite a bit lately, which doesn’t necessarily bode well for their future in terms of their performance level. However, the cousins are still one of the most strategic teams in the game, and with a U-Turn Vote and other potential surprises still awaiting the teams, they likely won’t hesitate to do whatever it takes to keep themselves in the game a little longer.
Becca and Floyd:
Team Fun managed to get themselves another first place finish in Dubai, proving they’re still a team to watch, but their fall to fifth in Uganda shows they may not be as invincible as they once seemed. Hopefully, they will still be staying in the competition for a little longer, but their inconsistent performance throughout the season does hint that they could have trouble ahead.
Chris and Bret:
The only remaining “Survivors” are proving that they’re a team to be reckoned with lately, finishing in 2nd place in Dubai and 4th in Uganda. Still, with the field narrowing down more and more, it seems like their time in the race may not be meant to last much longer. They’re a good team, but some of the others they’re still racing against are stronger—and they may not be able to beat them in the end. However, they’re definitely going to last at least one more leg.
Rachel and Elissa:
Unfortunately for the Reilly sisters, their time is likely going to come to an official end in the next leg. They’ve been one of the last teams to arrive for three legs in a row, just narrowly beating Corinne and Eliza during their elimination and then getting lucky with a non-elimination leg and a head-to-head. They’re not going to have those protective barriers in the next leg since the show doesn’t usually stack those potential second chances/competitions all on top of each other. Unless they manage to pull off a miracle, they are going to find themselves saying goodbye to the competition.
“The Amazing Race” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
