Which ‘Married at First Sight’ Husbands Walked Out On Their Wives? [Spoilers]
The couples have been married less than a month, but the honeymoon period is over for at least two of the “Married at First Sight” pairs. While one husband walked out after a fight, another disappeared for seemingly no reason at all in Season 9, episode 7.
Matt and Amber
These two are on their way to see her family when the topic of kids comes up. Matt wants to wait five to eight years, but Amber certainly doesn’t want to wait that long. She'll be 35 in eight years, which is the age when pregnant women are considered to be at a higher risk for complications.
Matt says kids don’t scare him, but being bonded to his child’s mother for the rest of his life scares him. She doesn’t understand how he doesn’t already think they’re bonded for life since they’re married. She’s confused, but they have to go see her family.
Amber reunites with her twin sister, and she says she’s having a good time being married. However, their conversation makes it clear to her that they might have some communication issues.
On a different day, Matt goes out and texts Amber to say he is out with his friends. He is gone all afternoon and all night. He won’t answer his phone and Amber sobs that she is so sad. At 2 a.m., she records a video diary. “I feel like my husband doesn’t love me or like me or even care about me. I don’t want to do this anymore,” she says. “He does not care about me at all.”
Deonna and Gregg
Deonna buys a cookie cake for Greg’s birthday and tells him that she really likes him. They’re moving slow, and she says that she wants to make sure they have a solid foundation before they have sex. She’s been in a lot of “situationships” based on sex alone and wants to change her habits. Greg is a little worried that she’s too concerned about her past.
Deonna put together a little birthday gathering with their friends. Everything goes really well, and Deonna tells the cameras that she “wouldn’t be opposed” to sex with her husband.
Beth and Jamie
Jamie is a little worried about seeing Beth’s overprotective dad again. Both her parents and his dad and stepmother come over, and Beth is a little overwhelmed by all the questions about her job and future. They both lie and say they’re going to discuss kids in a few years.
After everyone leaves, Beth asks about Jamie’s parents divorce. It’s a painful subject that he wants to avoid.
Instead, Jamie turns the subject back to Beth’s job. His parents’ questions revealed that Beth isn’t working for her dad yet. It’s a job she’s about to start. He doesn’t think she took an opportunity. He thinks she is taking advantage of nepotism. When she asks if he lost any respect for her, he doesn’t answer directly. He makes some snarky comments, and Beth gets angry.
She realizes Jamie is lashing out because she asked about his parents’ divorce. “I love Jamie, but right now, I don’t know if this is going to work,” Beth says.
Jamie leaves and returns with flowers. He admits that he isn’t sure Beth takes this marriage seriously. He wants to have a serious talk with her about what they want. He worries about the fact that she jokes about breaking up and not being attracted to each other.
Beth doesn’t understand what exactly Jamie wants from her. “Either you get on the positivity train or stop bringing me down,” she tells Jamie. She tells the cameras that she has given him everything she can.
Jamie doesn’t feel like Elizabeth wants to be intimate with him. He claims they’ve only have sex four or five times. Beth says they’ve had sex almost every day. Beth complains that he doesn’t try to do anything romantic and that they have “basic, Caucasian sex.”
Jamie walks away and asks why it’s so hard for her to apologize. She taunts him as “always leaving, always avoiding” as he packs up with his cat for the night.
Keith and Iris
Iris goes with Keith to see his dying grandmother. Iris is happy she can be there for Keith during this difficult family situation.
She’s less happy during their party with friends later. All is going well until she sees Keith’s friends helping themselves to lemonade from her fridge. She believes they should be taking from the beverages specifically bought for the party.
After the party, Keith says he invites all his friends to his fridge. They can replace anything his friends take, and he thinks this is about Iris being an only child and learning to share.
