A White House Official has denied Nicki Minaj's claim to visit the Presidential residence for discussing the COVID-19 vaccine. The official clarified that the White House had offered Minaj only a phone call with the experts to understand vaccination.
"As we have with others, we offered a call with Nicki Minaj and one of our doctors to answer questions she has about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine, the White House official told NBC NewsWednesday.
Minaj, who came under fire for spreading misinformation regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, took to Twitter on Wednesday evening to reveal that the White House has invited her to discuss the same.
"The White House has invited me & I think it’s a step in the right direction," Minaj wrote. "Yes, I’m going. I’ll be dressed in all pink like Legally Blonde so they know I mean business."
"I’ll ask questions on behalf of the ppl who have been made fun of for simply being human. #BallGate day 3," she concluded.
Advocate John Aravosis took to the comments section of Minaj's post regarding the White House visit and noted that the rapper has been "criticized for spreading disinformation that could get people killed, and then digging in your heels on it."
The 57-year-old advocate further added that it is great that she is willing to speak with the experts regarding the COVID-19 vaccination. However, he slammed the rapper for pretending like a victim. "You screwed up," he added.
One of the fans also commented in support of the rapper and wrote, "This is what’s needed, an intelligent woman speaking for the people who they try to shut out. Do what needs to be done Queen."
After receiving mixed reactions to her tweet, Minaj wrote in a separate tweet, "You know how many US Presidents were white supremacists? Oh please. Just stay on topic. Y’all can’t do that."
"The topic is: asking questions is OK. but let’s make the topic: Nicki talks to white racists so that you can all sleep better tonight. Dummies," she added.
The rapper came under fire after she tweeted the reason for not attending the Met Gala 2021 event on Monday. She revealed that she didn't attend the event because of the vaccine mandate. She also noted that if she would ever get vaccinated, it won't be for the sake of an event.
Netizens had divided opinions regarding the debate. While some supported the rapper for taking her own time to research, others bashed her.
The matter became worse for the rapper when she shared a story of her cousin, whose friend became impotent and got swollen testicles following the vaccination.
