NBA star Dwayne Wade reportedly fathered a son with a woman named Aja Metoyer while he was on a break from his current fianceé Gabrielle Union. Though the news is just now breaking, Union, an actress, knew about the love child before she said “yes,” Us Weekly reports.

TMZ reported Tuesday that the 30-year-old Metoyer is the mother of the basketball player's youngest son, Xavier Zechariah Wade, who was born Nov. 10. That’s six weeks before he asked his Hollywood starlet to be his bride.

TMZ added that even though Metoyer didn’t list Wade as the father on the birth certificate, she did give the child his last name. The gossip site added that Xavier is her third child. She reportedly has two other children with “Happy Endings” star Damon Wayans Jr.

It's also been rumored that Sandrina Schultz is the mother of Wade's child. He and Shultz have reportedly been friends for years.

During a press conference Monday evening, Wade explained that he had the child while he was on a break with Union, but wants to move on. "I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy," he said, as reported by the South Florida Sun Sentinel. "So I'm moving on."

Wade added having the new child in his life was nothing but a blessing, but something he wished to keep private: “But, like I said, this is something, obviously, private for my family that we will continue to deal with as a family. But we have a blessing to the bloodline, to the Wade bloodline."

Metoyer was described as someone the Miami Heat player had known for “many years.” Wade also has two children with his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches: Zaire; 11 and Zion; 6. He has custody of both children after a hot-blooded courtroom battle, which lasted for three years.

Us Weekly previously wrote that Wade and Union became engaged last week after he got down on one knee with an 8.5-carat diamond stunner, which was made by Jason of Beverly Hills. Union and the athlete have been dating since 2009.

Wade shared a snippet of his life with his kids and Union when he spoke to Oprah Winfrey in July 2012. "We're a family, and we're growing as a family every day. And I think that's the great thing about it." He said, "We have so much more room to improve as a family and it's awesome."
