Who Is Alexandra Hedison? Jodie Foster Marries Ellen DeGeneres' Ex-Girlfriend
Congratulations are in order for Oscar winner Jodie Foster. E! News reported Wednesday that she and girlfriend Alexandra Hedison got married this past weekend. The Hollywood star’s rep confirmed the happy news, the site said.
Not much information beyond the wedding itself has been shared. After the original statement revealing Foster, 40, and Hedison, 44, are now wed, E! News shared a bit on how the two met.
The women started dating last summer. "It's pretty serious," a source told E! in September. "They're totally in love." They were photographed together at a technology seminar at Fox Studios in Los Angeles and they were also spotted at a dinner a few days later. Though they weren’t photographed, they both were apparently at the opening of Alan Cumming’s "Macbeth" in New York.
Though Hedison isn’t a household name, she’s a well-known photographer who is popular in social circles, apparently. Before her relationship with Foster, Hedison dated comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
According to Hedison's professional website, she is a bicoastal photographer. But photography isn’t her only credential.
She starred in three seasons of the hit Showtime series “The L Word” as Dylan Moreland, according to her Internet Movie Database. She also had a cameo on the '90s TV show “Melrose Place” as Dr. Reshay.
According to E! News, Hedison dated DeGeneres for three years before they broke up. The couple reportedly called it quits due to DeGeneres' blossoming relationship with “Arrested Development” actress Portia de Rossi. The two have been married five years.
Foster has two children with Cydney Bernard, Charles and Kit. The two split after 20 years together in 2008, but when she accepted her Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award at the Golden Globes last year, she thanked her former partner and joked that she came out "in the Stone Age."
