Who Is Amanza Smith? Taye Diggs Dating Again After Separating From Estranged Wife Idina Menzel

Taye Diggs has found love again, just four months announcing his separation from wife Idina Menzel. Since January, the 43-year-old has been dating Amanza Smith. The two were first photographed together in the beginning of the year in West Hollywood leaving 1 OAK nightclub.

At the time, it seemed they did not like the attention, as the “Best Man” actor distanced himself from the woman, while she held her clutch in front of her with both hands.

Months later, however, Diggs is more than happy to confirm their status, as the two were seen enjoying date night at Hooray Henry’s nightclub in West Hollywood on April 9. Diggs held her hand and smiled at photographers. It is unclear how old she is or what her occupation is.

“They are fully dating. They’re telling friends they’re in love,” a source tells People.

Diggs and Menzel, a Broadway musical performer, seemed like a promising couple, even singing a duet together during her PBS concert special in 2012. But they announced in December that they were splitting after 10 years of marriage and several years of dating before tying the knot and then having a child in 2009.

“Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs have jointly decided to separate at this time," reps for the couple told People. "Their primary focus and concern is for their son. We ask that you respect their privacy during this time."

Prior to their split, Menzel spoke about her marriage, saying, "We work at it. I'm not going to glamorize it or glorify it – we go through tough times like everybody else, but we love each other very much. We try not to be away from each other for more than two weeks at a time, and we try to find new ways to communicate."
