Who Is Brad Bufanda? 'Veronica Mars' Actor Dies After Apparent Suicide

Brad Bufanda, an actor best known for a recurring role on "Veronica Mars," has died at the age of 34, after allegedly committing suicide Nov. 1 by jumping off of a building in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, Bufanda's body was found around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning, and a suicide note thanking his parents and other select people in his life was found hear his body. His manager told the website that his death came as a complete shock to his loved ones, as he didn't struggle with substance abuse and never showed any outward signs of an emotional struggle.

His rep confirmed his death later on to Us Weekly, saying that he had been reviving his career recently.

"Yes I can confirm Brad has passed away," the rep said. "We are completely devastated for he was an extremely talented young actor and wonderful, caring human being, He was reviving his career having just completed two movies and we are shocked and saddened by his passing. The family would appreciate privacy at this difficult time."

Bufanda, who grew up in Southern California, first broke into acting in 1995, with small one episode roles in a variety of TV series, including "Roseanne," and "Emeril." His biggest role came as Joe on NBC's "Days of Our Lives" from 2002-2003. That was followed up by roles on "Boston Public" and "CSI: Miami."

He is best known however, for his recurring role as Felix Toombs during the first two seasons of "Veronica Mars," and Larry on "Co-Ed Confidential." He also had a noteworthy role in 2004's "A Cinderella Story."

In that movie, he portrayed David, a popular football player, who was friends with Chad Michael Murray's character, Austin. David was also a feature character who tried hitting on Austin's ex-girlfriend Shelby (Julie Gonzalo), and getting into a fight with Carter (Dan Byrd) over it.

According to his IMDb page, Bufanda had recently completed work on the film "Garlic & Gunpowder," and was still filming a project titled "Stan the Man."
