On Tuesday Catt Sadler explained why she resigned from her position as the co-host of E! network’s “Daily Pop” and “E! News” in a tell-all blog post on her website.

E! announced Monday that Sadler will be leaving their network. Following the announcement, in the revealing blog post, Sadler revealed that the reason behind her resignation was a gender pay gap.

“An executive from E brought something alarming to my attention — namely, that there was a massive disparity in pay between my similarly situated male co-host and myself,” she wrote. “More recently, when E reached out to renew and extend my deal, I learned that he wasn't just making a little more than I was. In fact, he was making close to double my salary for the past several years.”

Born on August 14, 1974, in Indiana, Sadler attended the Martinsville High school and went on to graduate with a degree in Journalism from the Indiana University.

At the age of 11, she starred in the movie “Hoosiers.” Sadler’s career as a journalist began when she got hired by local news outlet WXIN, an affiliate of the Fox network, as the host of the weekly segment named “Youth Matters," according to Article Bio.

Next, she moved to California for better job opportunities and landed a gig as the entertainment reporter at KBWB/ KNTV, a local news channel. There, she hosted the lifestyle segment called “The Bay Beat,” which required her to travel to Los Angeles to conduct the celebrity interviews.

After working in California for four years, Sadler returned to WXIN in 2001, to co-host their morning newscast. During this period of time, she also pursued a part-time career an actress, appearing in several episodes in the TV series “General Hospital” and also starring in the music video “You Better Pray”.

In 2010, Sadler joined “E! News,” working alongside Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic. She has also hosted E! Live from the Red Carpet events, covering the Golden Globes, Emmys, Academy Awards and so on. In May 2017, Sadler started co-hosting “Daily Pop,” a new daytime talk show on E!

Sadler also serves as the international spokesperson for Women Like US Foundation, an organization committed to the welfare of women. “Gender equality is an important catalyst for social justice and the restructuring of human rights for all. The way we spread the word is by driving awareness and providing grants for women-led initiatives worldwide,” the organization’s official website reads.

Sadler has two sons from her first marriage to fashion executive Kyle Boyd — Arion Boyd and Austin Boyd. She mentioned the fact that she was a single mother supporting two children made it all the more difficult to accept the fact that she was being paid unfairly.

“It's scary,” her blog post read. “I am a single mother of two boys. The unknown can be terrifying, but it can also be the most beautiful gift. Countless brave women have come forward this year to speak their truth. Females refuse to remain silent on issues that matter most because without our voices, how will we invoke lasting change? How can we make it better for the next generation of girls if we do not stand for what is fair and just today?”

E! has, however, denied accusations that their network discriminates individual pay based on gender. “E! compensates employees fairly and appropriately based on their roles, regardless of gender,” the network said in a statement. “We appreciate Catt Sadler's many contributions at E! News and wish her all the best following her decision to leave the network.”
