Who Is Clare Crawley? Meet ‘The Bachelorette’ 2020 Lead And Her Cast
Clare Crawley is rumored to be named ABC’s next “The Bachelorette” on Monday’s installment of “Good Morning America.”
On Saturday, spoiler blogger Reality Steve took to Twitter to leak the news that Clare had been named the star of the network’s 2020 season. He went on to share details about her Season 16 cast.
So, just who is Clare Crawley? Here is what you need to know.
What Shows Was Clare On?
Bachelor Nation will be familiar with Clare. While she was not on the current season of “The Bachelor,” she did appear on Season 18 of the show starring Juan Pablo. Clare placed second on the 2014 season before heading to “Bachelor In Paradise” for seasons 1 and 2. In 2018, Clare came out of Bachelor retirement to star on “The Bachelor Winter Games.”
How Old Is She?
As noted by Reality Blurred, Clare will be the oldest “The Bachelorette” lead in the show’s history. According to Reality Steve, Clare is currently 38 years old and will turn 39 during filming.
What’s Her Real Job?
Outside of reality TV, Clare works as a hairstylist at Defacto Salon in East Sacramento, California. Fans can see before and after pictures of her styling work on her Instagram page. In a 2019 post, she shared that she became a stylist because she loves "connecting with people and being able to make a difference in their day."
She’s Been Engaged Before
Clare did not get engaged on her first Bachelor” outing but she did find love on “Winter Games.” During the series’ reunion show, fellow contestant Benoit Beauséjour-Savard proposed to her. The couple announced their split two months later.
“... It’s with a heavy heart that we have mutually decided to end our relationship,” Crawley revealed in a shared statement. “We think the world of each other, and we were both hoping we could make this work...Just know there are no negative feelings here, we are simply two people who believed in love, and were open enough to give it a chance.”
She’s A Fan Of Adventure
Clare’s last Instagram post before her “GMA” appearance revealed that she was up for an “adventure.” Her post included a picture of a quote from Brené Brown that reads: “Choose courage over comfort. Choose whole hearts over armor. And choose the great adventure of being brave and afraid. At the exact same time.”
She’s A Nature Lover
In a September 2019 Instagram post, Clare shared that being out in nature makes her feel the most “alive” and “happy.” (Is it safe to assume that “Bachelorette” viewers can expect lots of outdoor dates next season?)
An Older Cast Of Contestants
Reality Steve reported on Saturday that due to Clare’s age, viewers should expect an “older cast” cast in Season 16.
“As of right now, of the guys that I have, 4 of them have kids. And they are definitely going to be doing some late casting of more older guys this week after Monday’s announcement," he shared in a followup post on Sunday. “They’ve already told a couple of the 25 year olds they’re no longer cast bc of the age difference.”
