Who Is Ivana Trump? Donald Trump’s Ex-Wife To Write Book About Raising Their Children
President Donald Trump’s former wife and the mother of three of his children — Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric — is set to write a “non political” book that will talk about her experiences as a mother raising their children.
Ivana Trump and the then-construction mogul met at a New York restaurant in 1976 and the couple got married soon after, in 1977. After almost 15 years together, the couple divorced in 1992 around the time it was revealed that Trump was having an affair with Marla Maples, who he went on to marry. Maples and Trump divorced in 1999, and six years after that he married Melania Knauss (now first lady Melania Trump.)

“As her former husband takes his place as the 45th president of the United States, his children have also been thrust into the media spotlight — but it is Ivana who raised them and proudly instilled in them what she believes to be the most important life lessons: loyalty, honesty, integrity and drive,” Gallery Books, who will be publishing “Raising Trump” that releases Sept. 12, said in a statement to the Associated Press.
Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric made numerous appearances during their father’s campaign for presidency, with Ivanka even moving to Washington, D.C., after her father became president to advise him. The siblings are reportedly “excited” about the book written by their “amazing mom.”
The Czech-born Ivana Zelníčková, now 68, takes great pride in her children.
“Every day, people ask me how I raised such great kids. They are truly amazed when I tell them that there was no magic to their upbringing,” the former model said in the statement. “I was a tough and loving mother who taught them the value of a dollar, not to lie, cheat or steal, respect for others, and other life lessons that I’ll share now in Raising Trump, along with unfiltered personal stories about Don, Eric, and Ivanka from their early childhood to becoming the ‘first sons and daughter.’”
In the past, Ivana has written “The Best Is Yet to Come: Coping with Divorce and Enjoying Life Again” and the novel “For Love Alone,” books that led to a legal battle with Trump when he sued her for 25 million in 1992, claiming the latter book was based on their marriage, violating a nondisclosure clause in their divorce. Trump was countersued and both had to settle their differences outside of court.
