Who Is Jocelyn Wildenstein? ‘Catwoman’ Arrested For Clawing And Slashing Designer Boyfriend Lloyd Klein
Feline-featured socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein was arrested by police early Wednesday after a brawl with her boyfriend at her Trump World Tower apartment in Manhattan, New York City.
Nicknamed “Catwoman,” Wildenstein, 76, reportedly flew into a “violent rage” and clawed her designer boyfriend Lloyd Klein, going on to slash his chest with a pair of scissors, drawing blood, during the incident that took place around 1:30 a.m. local time, a source told Page Six.
A New York Police Department spokesman confirmed the incident to People magazine.
“The victim is a 49-year-old male…Wildenstein is accused of scratching his face with her fingernails and using a pair of scissors to cut him on the upper-right part of his chest,” the spokesman told People. “The victim suffered bleeding. However, he refused medical attention at the scene.”
Klein reportedly shut Wildenstein inside a closet to prevent another attack, following which the police was called to the scene and arrested the “Catwoman.”
Wildenstein was arraigned in a Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday night, and has been charged with felony assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon and a misdemeanor assault with intent to cause physical injury.
She spoke with Klein for 20 minutes before appearing in front of the judge and also spent another five minutes combing her hair, using her cell phone as a mirror, the Daily Mail reported.
In the past, the Swiss-born Wildenstein was in the limelight for her 1999 divorce with her husband of 21 years, Alec Wildenstein, which brought her a hefty settlement — $2.5 billion and an additional $100 million a year for 13 years.
Wildenstein has reportedly spend over $4 million on cosmetic surgeries to please her art-dealer husband who loved big cats. He died in 2008 of prostate cancer.
Wildenstein and Klein, a Canadian born designer known for dressing Nicki Minaj and Paula Abdul, have been dating for the past decade. They reportedly got into a fight on Wednesday after Wildenstein argued with him for spending too much time on social media.
“Lloyd was using his laptop and evidently not paying her enough attention. So she screamed at him to get off the computer then picked up a lit candle and threw the hot wax all over him,” a source told the Daily Mail. “He was very scared, he asked her to calm down but she just got angrier and angrier and threatened to kill him.
Wildenstein has been linked with a number of high-profile men in the past — European filmmaker Sergio Gobbi, Cyril Piguet, and Saudi arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi.
