Who Is Laura Leal? Nick Gordon’s Girlfriend Talks Bobbi Kristina’s Death, Says It ‘Could Have Been Me’

Laura Leal was glad to walk away from her relationship with Nick Gordon alive. He was famously engaged to Bobbi Kristina, the daughter of pop stars Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston.

Leal, 26, was afraid she could have died if she didn’t call the police. “I've been reading the reports about Bobbi Kristina and I'm physically shaking,” she told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview Tuesday. “I read about her being isolated, her family not knowing where she was, the manipulation, the bullying — it's the exact same thing. That could have been me. Only the Grace of God saved me.”

Gordon, 28, was arrested Saturday after Leal filed a police reported claiming he physically assaulted her the day before, according to TMZ. Gordon garnered fame for dating Bobbi Kristina. Tragically, she was found unconscious in a bathtub Jan. 31, 2015 and died seven months later on July 26, 2015 at the age of 22.

Gordon was found civilly liable by the courts for the wrongful death of his then-girlfriend in November. He was ordered to pay $36 million to her estate.

Gordon was released from John E. Polk Correctional Facility, in Seminole, Florida, Tuesday wearing an ankle bracelet. His bond had been set at $15,000.

Leal said she and Gordan had dreams of getting married. “In all sincerity we never talked about Bobbi Kristina. I was protective of his feelings and what he had been through,” she said. “I felt like I could trust him.”

But the good times didn’t last. Their last fight started Friday and continued into Saturday morning. They were at a bar with friends watching Game 4 of the NBA finals at Duffy's Sports Bar in Lake Mary, Florida, but things soon went awry when Gordon thought Leal was trying to “hook up” with a friend.

They left the bar to go home and that's when the allged abuse took place. “He raised his fist like he was about to knock me out so I opened the door and ran into his mom's room,” she said about his mother, Michelle Gordon.

“She is a great woman. She saved my life,” Leal said about Gordon's mother.

Bobbi Kristina’s family is supposedly worried about Leal after the alleged altercation. “Cissy, Dionne and Krissi’s dad Bobby think of Nick as the spawn of the devil,” an insider told Radar Online Thursday about Houston’s family members. “They’re heartsick that he’s running around ruining another young women’s life.” The source added: “They want to reach out to Laura but it’s all so painful.”

Gordon told police he didn’t hit Leal. In fact, he claimed that Leal attacked him. He reportedly wanted to press charges against her, TMZ wrote.

Gordon faces charges of kidnapping and false imprisonment of an adult.

Leal’s sister took her to the hospital after Michelle Gordon drove her home. Multiple pictures of bruised arms show her alleged injuries from Gordon.
