A 63-year-old man, who allegedly was punched in the face by a Mexican TV star after a road rage incident Sunday in Miami, died from brain injuries Thursday, according to Jackson Memorial Hospital officials.

Pablo Lyle was arrested Sunday by Miami police on a felony battery charge for having allegedly punched Cuban-born Juan Ricardo Hernandez.

Hernandez's family members told the Miami Herald that he had suffered from an internal hemorrhage that left him unconscious and that the family decided to disconnect his life-support system after four days in a hospital.

Surveillance video obtained by local Miami station NBC 6 appears to show a driver get out of his car at a red light to approach the driver of an SUV and then a man believed to be Lyle getting out of the passenger seat of the SUV and punching the driver before retreating to his car.

Miami police on Sunday arrested Lyle at Miami International Airport and charged him with assault. He appeared before a judge Monday and was allowed to travel to Mexico after posting a $5,000 bond.

In an affidavit, Lyle told police he punched Hernandez because he was "in fear for the safety of his family." Lyle has a 6-year-old son, Mauro, who was in the backseat.

Lyle, 32, is a soap opera actor on the Mexican telenovela "Mi Adorable Maldición" ("My Adorable Curse"). He is a native of Mazatlan, a resort city on the West Coast of Mexico. Lyle has a son (Mauro) and a daughter, Arantza, with his actress wife Ana Araujo, whom he married in 2014.

Lyle's acting career began in 2009 when he starred on "Verano de Amor" ("Summer of Love").

A former model, Lyle was voted "Los 50 Más Bellos" (50 Most Beautiful) by People en Español in 2015.
