Emma Roberts and her boyfriend, Garrett Hedlund, are reportedly expecting their first child together.

The “American Horror Story” alum has always kept her personal life away from the limelight. But as news of her pregnancy broke on Thursday (June 25) via Us Weekly, the 29-year-old’s current relationship with actor and singer Hedlund has drawn significant attention.

Roberts’ baby daddy may not be a household name, but there is a reason why Hedlund seems familiar to most. The 35-year-old actor has racked up a rather impressive resume, appearing in a number of notable films such as Wolfgang Petersen’s 2004 war epic “Troy” alongside Brad Pitt, Eric Bana and Orlando Bloom.

Hedlund co-starred with Billy Bob Thornton, Connie Britton and Tim McGraw in the 2004 sports drama “Friday Night Lights.” In 2010, the actor appeared in Disney’s science fiction action film “Tron: Legacy,” playing Samuel Flynn.

A 2010 musical drama titled “Country Strong” saw the 35-year-old actor perform and record several songs that were also featured on the film’s soundtrack. Hedlund’s musical role eventually sealed his up-and-coming showbiz career after his talent in singing was brought to light.

More recent films that starred Roberts’ partner are the 2017 Academy Award-nominated drama “Mudbound” and the 2019 drama thriller “Dreamland,” where he had worked alongside Margot Robbie.

Currently, Hedlund is slated for Lee Daniel’s upcoming biopic film, “The United States v Billie Holiday,” where he will take on the role of racist U.S. government official Harry J. Anslinger.

Roberts and Hedlund first sparked rumors in March 2019 when they were spotted holding hands in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. The news came after sources confirmed that the actress had ended her engagement with on-again, off-again partner Evan Peters.

Keeping her affairs away from the spotlight has apparently been the actress’ personal choice. In an interview with LA Mag, Roberts revealed the real reason why she now keeps her love life away from the public eye.

“Relationships are hard enough between two people, let alone two people and the entire internet,” the actress shared.

“People say, ‘Why’s it so hard for celebrities to have relationships?’ My answer? ‘Do people photoshop their face over yours with your boyfriend?’ It’s just a weird thing. Hey, I get it, when I was growing up, I was obsessed with celebrity couples. It’s just not as fun when it’s you,” she explained.
