Rumors of their potential romance broke June 19. Sources told the New York Daily News the pair had been together for “months,” adding that “they hold hands and hug and are very comfortable together.” Cyrus and Maxwell met through Cheyne Thomas, the “Wrecking Ball” singer’s friend and assistant. They have been spending a lot of time together recently, but neither has confirmed nor denied they are together.

Not long before stories surfaced claiming they were an item, Cyrus revealed to Paper magazine that she has been romantically involved with both men and women in the past. She said she’s “down with any adult – anyone over the age of 18 – who is down to love me.” Although she told the publication she’s had relationships with women, she had never gone public with any of them.

The 24-year-old was born in Belgium, where she spent the first 13 years of her life. She and her family moved to Australia for a year before finally settling down in Wellington, New Zealand.
